The seller, Amazon, immediately responded to the bank with some incorrect documents that made it appear Amazon was resolved and the chargeback was invalid. It was documented and acknowledged as received and I made numerous attempts to have the return credited without success. I rarely have difficulties with orders, however, early this year I returned an iPad shortly after I received it, well within the return window.

B&H customer service was polite, courteous, and helpful. Mistakes do happen, and a good vendor does what they can to make things right. On the other hand, I am very happy with the way B&H handled it. I am disappointed that it took 5 days for FedEx to find and redeliver my package (they do have a GPS record of where every package was delivered, so this should have been easy to fix). I filled out a customer service form on the B&H web site letting them know it had arrived (undamaged and unopened), and that they could cancel the replacement order. I opted for the replacement.Ībout 5 days later, FedEx finally delivered the original package. They apologized, and warned me the item was out of stock, but if I wanted a replacement order, it would ship overnight as soon as they were back in stock. They offered to refund my money, or enter a replacement order (at no charge).

They would email me a form to sign attesting that I did not receive the package, and that I would let them know should it eventually arrive. FedEx told me they don't work that way, and would simply open a 'missing package case'. I asked FedEx to message the driver as he was still near the package, and let him know it had been misdelivered so he could pick it up. I immediately called FedEx and reported it. It was not at my door, and security camera footage confirmed that they had not delivered it to my home.

I was actually standing by my front door when I got a text from FedEx telling me the package had been delivered. I ordered an item from B&H on a Black Friday sale. Bummer, as I previously used Adorama a year ago and was happy with the price and shipment. Just wanted to share another frustrating experience and get some advice. I’ve already read through some similar threads, and as far as I can tell the general hope is that a chargeback will light a fire under their butt (or get you the money back), or an Adorama rep on DPReview will see and maybe help you out. I’m on the 4th investigation today, and Adorama’s CS has just told me that I should contact UPS myself if they close this one as well. Rinse and repeat 2 more times (for a total of 3 investigations, 45 days later). UPS closes the investigation after 10 business days. I naively did not file a chargeback because I assumed Adorama or UPS would help me out here. I contacted Adorama Customer Service, and they opened a UPS investigation. My package was marked as delivered and signed for by “REL A81”, but was not at my door. It did not, and the package has been lost for about 45 days.Īt this point, I’m wondering if there are any options besides filing a chargeback and praying that I didn’t just lose half a grand into the abyss.
